Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Git. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A user can create a specially crafted '.gitmodules' file in a project to be cloned with '--recurse-submodules'. When the target user subsequently issues a 'git clone --recurse-submodules' command, the target user's git command will pass the 'git clone' data from the URL as an object and execute the script.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix.
